Welcome from our Chief Nursing Officer and Associate Chief Nursing Officer
MelroseWakefield Healthcare’s nursing department is a proud, well-respected community hospital system comprised of two hospital campuses and many multi-specialty ambulatory areas.
MelroseWakefield Healthcare serves communities in north suburban Boston and is well-known partners that are committed to the provision of easily accessible, high-quality patient care, and optimum patient outcomes.
Innovation and Growth
Our nurses innovate to drive change to their patients and our organization every day. We have more than 165 nurses who are certified in their specialties and hundreds currently enrolled in formal education programs as we strive to get to the 80 by 20 goal. We have an engaged population of nurses actively participating in our shared governance structure who sit on a variety of organization-wide committees, nursing councils, and community activities. Our nurses have been known to receive inspiring patient letters and patients have the ability to recognize and nominate a deserving nurse through the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses.
Our nursing department has embraced the rapid pace of change as we have embarked on a new affiliation with our Wellforce family while not losing sight of our nursing mission and vision around quality outcomes. We have led the way in financial transformation, the implementation of an organization-wide daily safety huddle, implemented cutting-edge technology with a da Vinci XI surgical robot and created a new nursing unit. This is just a brief glimpse of the phenomenal work our nurses do.
Proud, Humbled and Professional
As the Chief Nurse Officer and Associate Chief Nurse Officer, we are extraordinarily proud and humbled at the level of engagement and professionalism among our nursing team. We look forward to not only continuing to serve our patient populations but also recruit and retain the most compassionate caregivers in our area.
Professionals in all areas of nursing will find there is not a more powerful environment in which to practice than at MelroseWakefield Healthcare. Our nursing leaders are an experienced group of professionals who are dedicated to their teams, and who take pride in helping nurses achieve professional advancement.
Extraordinary Patient Care
Our nursing approach is based on the Synergy Model for Patient Care. The core concept of this model is that the needs or characteristics of patients and families influence and drive the characteristics or competencies of nurses. Synergy results when the needs and characteristics of a patient, clinical unit or system are matched with a nurse’s competencies.
We empower our nurses to lead practice changes through a shared governance structure and whether you’re a new graduate or an experienced nurse, we offer professional growth throughout your career with a clinical ladder program, a new grad nurse residency program, a preceptor program, tuition reimbursement, and specialty certification programs.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about nursing at MelroseWakefield Healthcare. We welcome nurses who love their profession and want to make a difference — if you’re interested in learning more and joining our team, please contact us.
