Classes & Events to Make the Community Healthier
We offer courses on a variety of topics aimed at promoting community safety, health and wellness.
We are committed to providing families with information to lead healthier lives through education and support programs. Our community health education classes are conducted by clinical staff, certified childbirth educators, CPR and first aid instructors and other educators. Classes are offered throughout the year.

Safe Sitter© Babysitting Training
Designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings or babysitting. The class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises. Students will use manikins to practice rescue skills like choking rescue and CPR.
Students learn how to practice safety skills, what to do when faced with dangers, how to respond to injuries and illnesses. Students learn tips to manage behavior that will help them stay in control of themselves and the children in their care. Students also learn the ages and stages of child development, as well as practice diapering.

Chronic Disease Self-Management
Chronic disease may cause sleep loss, increased stress and loss of motivation around everyday activities. Manage your disease and continue living a fulfilling life through with a free six-session program. Learn strategies developed and tested by researchers including ways to:
- deal with problems such as frustration, fatigue, isolation and poor sleep
- exercise appropriately to maintain strength, flexibility and endurance
- use medications appropriately
- communicate effectively with family, friends and health professionals
- eat healthy
- pace activities and rest
- evaluate new treatments
Open to adults of all ages and/or their caregivers who are managing a chronic disease. We offer these several times a year, find upcoming sessions in classes & events.

CPR Training with the American Heart Association
Many accidents and health emergencies happen at home. Knowing how to administer CPR can help save a life. Classes are also available for childcare workers and other professionals caring for children that need a tested program with certification to meet their employment requirements.
Learn the signs of choking, heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke and other emergencies and develop the rescuer skills you need in our comprehensive CPR classes. All classes are taught by American Heart Association certified instructors.

First Aid and Safety with the American Heart Association
Our safety education courses are taught by American Heart Association certified instructors and focus on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid instruction and training courses. These courses are designed to give community members and healthcare workers skills necessary to help save lives.

Childbirth Education
Certified childbirth educators will share information on changes in your body during and after pregnancy as well as what to expect in labor and delivery. Topics addressed include signs and stages of labor, relaxation/breathing techniques, comfort measures for labor and birth and more.
