To advance this vision, Wellforce is pleased to welcome Lee Kim Erickson, MD, LSSMBB, who will join Wellforce as the first Chief Quality Officer on July 26. Lee, is a dynamic and highly respected physician executive who has a deep understanding of health care quality and patient safety issues, performance improvement, and organizational transformation. Most recently, she led clinical operations at Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) Cancer Center as the Deputy Physician-In-Chief.
Lee will develop and execute innovative strategies that position Wellforce as a leader in quality and safety. She will partner closely with Wellforce’s physician network, hospitals, and home health colleagues to enhance the quality of care across the system and make care delivery more efficient.
At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Lee developed several successful programs including the organizations first Telemedicine Program and Operational Excellence program that resulted in work stream savings. Prior to joining MSK, she served as Associate Chief Medical Officer for the University of Pennsylvania Health System and Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia. Her work at Penn Medicine focused on expanding and strengthening the performance improvement infrastructure for the health system.
Lee also has more than two decades of experience serving as a family medicine/primary care faculty member for graduate medical education programs. She takes pride in her teaching and mentorship of young physicians and colleagues and inspires them to always strive for excellence in serving patients and reimagining how to create better outcomes and lower costs.
Lee shared that she believes we as health care professionals have an obligation to our patients to provide high-quality, seamless, and affordable care. Her passions are well aligned with Wellforce’s strategic imperatives of enabling talent and infrastructure and supporting the distributed academic medical center model.
