Melrose resident Paula Vaughan, lead senior systems analyst for information systems, was named 2021 Employee of the Year by MelroseWakefield Hospital at the company’s annual celebration on May 10, 2022.

Paula, who was also named November Employee of the Month, was selected among the year’s employees who had been named Employee of the Month as determined by their peers. Employee of the Month winners strongly exhibit the organization’s cornerstones for achieving excellence in the areas of people, quality, service, growth and fiscal responsibility. Employee of the Year is the pinnacle recognition among all the Employees of the Month honorees.

“Paula was instrumental in designing technical and operational workflow solutions to support our COVID-19 vaccine clinic,” read her nomination letter. “She was a go-to person who partnered with all disciplines to ensure a stable rollout for our clinic staff, employees, and patients. Her personal commitment, expertise, follow through and genuine caring contributed to the vaccine program’s overall success.”

Paula, who began her career at MelroseWakefield Hospital in the staffing office in 1990, said that she was “shocked” when she heard her name called. “There were so many compelling nominations for all of the good work done by great people.  I am very thankful.” She continued, “I love working at MelroseWakefield Hospital. The strength of this organization is in the employees.”
