Explanation of Patient Bills
It’s important to understand why you may be receiving separate bills for one visit.
You may visit a location of MelroseWakefield Hospital, Lawrence Memorial Hospital and/or Tufts Medical Center Community Care that is an outpatient department of MelroseWakefield Healthcare hospitals. You may receive a bill for both the professional (doctor, nurse practitioner or physician assistant) services and a facility charge for your visit.
This list may change at any time, but current locations include:
- Urgent Care in Medford
- some Tufts Medical Center Community Care locations
- some outpatient hospital locations
How to Check Your Coverage
We recommend all patients contact their insurance carrier to verify coverage (including whether a referral is required) and to understand out-of-pocket expenses.
