Each year we welcome new residents into our Pharmacy Residency Program.

Richard

Dr. Richard Tang graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2022. His professional interests include diabetes management, ambulatory care, and infectious diseases.

Richard was originally born in Canada and grew up in Acton MA with one older sister who also works in the medical field. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, playing video games with friends, cooking, trying out new restaurants, and exploring other cultures.

Alaa

Dr. Alaa Makawi graduated from Nova Southeastern University in 2021. She then went on to complete a cardiology pharmacy fellowship program in June of 2022 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Her professional interests include cardiology, infectious disease, and ambulatory care, especially in anticoagulation management.

Alaa was born and raised in Saudi Arabia. She enjoys cooking, spending time with friends and family, traveling and exploring new places. She wishes to visit more states and countries in the forthcoming years.

Jasmine

Dr. Jasmine Ssentongo graduated with a doctorate of pharmacy from MCPHS University of Boston in 2022. Her practice interests include antimicrobial stewardship, critical care, and teaching. During her time in pharmacy, she has worked at Cambridge Health Alliance Everett and MelroseWakefield Hospital as an intern and she is excited to continue her pharmacy journey with us.

She enjoys baking and cooking and trying out various restaurants. She also enjoys listening to music, going to concerts, and watching sports.

Mohannad

Dr. Mohannad Nasser graduated from Nova Southeastern University where he received his PharmD degree in May 2021. Mo was an antimicrobial pharmacist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Saudi Arabia. His professional interest includes infectious disease, antimicrobial stewardship, and critical care.

Mohannad is originally from Saudi Arabia and is the second of four siblings – all of whom work in the medical field! He enjoys working out at CrossFit gyms and is a certified instructor. He likes coffee and is interested in learning about different coffee-making methods and cultures.

Shahad

Dr. Shahad Almahmoud completed her PharmD at the University of Health Science and Pharmacy in St. Louis in 2021. She has worked at King Abdulaziz Medical City as a pharmacist. Her clinical areas of interest include ambulatory care and emergency medicine.

She was born and raised in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and has one brother. Her hobbies include baking, cooking, trying out new adventures, and loves cats. She is looking forward to experiences at MelroseWakefield Hospital and the greater Boston area!

Austen

Dr. Austen Sholudko is a graduate of MCPHS University in Worcester, MA, in 2022. Austen’s professional interest areas include pharmacy education, clinical management, and finance. His clinical interests are infectious diseases and cardiology.

He is our current PGY1 HSPAL pharmacy resident and will complete his PGY2 in 2024 at MelroseWakefield Hospital.

Austen is born and raised in Massachusetts and is the youngest of 3 brothers. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports, exercising, and playing with his cats.

Leia

Dr. Leia Gaddis obtained her PharmD from TTUHSC SOP in Texas in 2021.  Though she was born in Colorado, she moved to Texas during middle school and has lived there since.  Her clinical interest lies with toxicology, therefore emergency medicine and critical care are her favorite practice settings. 

Leia is the PGY2 and chief resident at MelroseWakefield Hospital. Her hobbies include exploring New England, enjoying the fall weather and eating at the surprising number of Italian restaurants in the Boston area.
