Convenient Locations for Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a diagnostic exam that uses sound waves to image the body.
A small device, known as a transducer, is positioned on the skin over the area of interest. The transducer emits the sound waves which respond to the various tissues in the body, producing different echoes. These echoes are converted into an image that allows the doctor to check for abnormalities.
Examples of ultrasound exams offered:
- venous and carotid studies
- peripheral arterial studies
