Many of our providers see patients or order specific tests that need to occur in the hospital. We provide emergency, inpatient, intensive care, surgery and maternity services.

Diabetes Self-Management Program, 1st floor

Located on the 1st floor of MelroseWakefield Hospital, we teach you how to take control of your diabetes through group classes and one-on-one sessions that teach you how to manage your diabetes.

Lab Services, 1st floor

Located on 1st floor, you can walk in at your convenience to get lab work done before or after a doctor’s appointment. We provide your doctor with results quickly and seamlessly transfer the results to your electronic medical record. Our hours:

  • Monday-Friday: 6:30 a.m.-7 p.m. (closing at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, 2023)
  • Saturday-Sunday: 7 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • December 24, 25, 31 and January 1: 7 a.m.-3 p.m.

Outpatient lab services will be closed on January 29, 2022.

Medical Records Department, 1st floor (in Registration area)

To receive copies of your medical records or to gain access to the hospital patient portal, you need to complete the Authorization to Use & Disclose Protected Health Information form and bring a photo I.D.

  • Monday-Friday: 8a.m.-3p.m.

Emergency Medicine, 2nd floor

Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your emergency medical care.

Cardiovascular Center, 2nd floor

Located on the 2nd floor, we provide complete heart care from emergency cath lab to cardiac surgery and arrhythmia services.

Imaging/Radiology, 2nd floor

Located on the 2nd floor, we provide convenient, community access to a wide range of advanced diagnostic services. Our imaging services include MRI and CT procedures as well as digital mammography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, nuclear cardiology, x-ray services, vascular imaging, echocardiology and interventional radiology.

Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Therapy, 2nd floor

Located on the 2nd floor, our wound healing and hyperbaric medicine center have dedicated exam rooms and treatment rooms with two hyperbaric oxygen chambers.

Vein Care and Endoscopy, 2nd floor

Located on the 2nd floor, our endoscopy and vein care team provide specialized care in a comfortable setting.

Maternal and Newborn Services

These are restricted areas, please ring the bell for assistance.

Obstetrics, Labor and Delivery, 2nd floor
Our private and spacious birthing suites offer the privacy and warmth of a home-like setting so you and your family.

Special Care Nursery, 4th floor
If your baby needs special care, our level II special care nursery provides specialized care across a wide range of fields including pediatric cardiology, neurology, surgical services and genetic testing and counseling.

Lactation Services, 4th floor
Our certified lactation consultants provide highly specialized and individualized consultation to assess you and your baby’s feeding style and assist with education and problem-solving.

Postpartum Recovery and Nursery, 6th floor
After delivery, we will move you to a private, quiet and comfortable recovery room.

Surgery, 3rd floor

Located on the 3rd floor, our expert surgery team performs a wide variety of surgical procedures for our patients.

Hospital Medicine, varies

When you’re admitted to the hospital, a hospitalist will provide individualized care for you. A hospitalist is a physician who specializes in the care of hospitalized patients. Their job is to help you return home as quickly and as healthy as possible and partner with your primary care provider to keep them updated on your care.
